Find the Art of Storytelling, Lose the TV

Families today have many ways to spend time together if they would lose the television. One of the ways that families can spend quality time together and make it fun for everyone is by telling stories. Stories can create an imagination in children, and it can also be a good way for parents and children to learn about each other. Rainy evenings are a great time to tell stories. Set up a tent in the living room, and prepare a few snacks for the family. Have everyone gather under the tent that is made from blankets and chairs, and tell stories by the light of a flashlight. If the weather is nice outside, set up a tent in the backyard and tell scary stories. Keep the stories humorous for children who are very young. You can also have a play one evening. Gather the materials to make puppets, and present a play of one of the favorite stories of a family member. You can also dress up as the characters of a story, and invite other members of your family to come watch you perform. Telling stories is a great way to bring everyone together for an evening of fun and laughs.
